Small Quarto. 200pp. Original rust cloth with gilt emblem on cover, gilt lettering and tooling on spine, black ruling on cover and spine, blind-stamped on back cover. Frontispiece engraving. A Masonic Tale of the captive Jews and the Ark of the Covenant. "Instead then of accepting any author as a guide, go directly to the Scriptures, and, like an astronomer, carefully weigh in the balance a commentary unto yourselves... I have examined the Scriptures carefully, and append the following preface, giving the distinctions which exist between the house of Judah and the house of Israel." (Author's preface). Includes a number of b/w illustrations. Binding with light wear along edges and very light rubbing. Small water stain on lower cover near spine.
