In two volumes, Vol. I: color portrait frontispiece and other illustrations, 544pp., Vol II: Frontispiece of the Ira Allen Chapel in black and white, title page with a central medallion devise from the Ira Allen half-dollar issued in 1927 to commemorate the sesquicentennial of the Battle of Bennington, along with other illustrations, 570pp. This is the history of Vermont. from the early colonial period where it was controlled by English law to its founding by Ira Allen and the struggle to statehood. and more. Bound in red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, previous owner's name with his embossed stamp to lower corner of front free endpapers. A clean bright fine set in near fine dust jacket with some toning, light chipping to spine ends.
