London: The London Book Company / Collins. Universal Pictures film edition dustwrapper. Uncommon edition. Part of the "Novel Library" series. Undated but circa 1930 (British Library). The film appeared in 1933. Pocket sized hardback - approx 4.5" x 6.25". Blue cloth, titled gilt. Lighter damp spots at base of upper board. Dustwrapper has minor chips at top of spine losing top of letters of "The In-". Also other corner chips & light creases to rear & front panel. Small sticker pull to top corner. Overall not as bad as it sounds however and particularly uncommon in a dustwrapper . Very Good. Hardcover. 1st thus.

Synopsis

Invisible Man is a novel written by HG Wells, first published as a serial in  Pearson's Weekly  in 1897 before being published as a book by C. Arthur Pearson in 1897. The story follows the scientist Griffith, who through experimentation has become the Invisible Man of the title.  Griffith's initial, almost comedic, adventures are soon overshadowed by the bizarre streak of terror he unleashes upon the inhabitants of a small village, and the novel is noted for its horror, suspense and psychological nuance.
