The First UK printing published by Clover Hill Editions, London in 1972. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. This is number 'XL' of only 115 copies which are Numbered and Signed by David Jones to the limitation page : 'David Jones, Feb. 5, . Anno ab incarna domini, MCMLXX11'. Bound in quarter vellum and green cloth and contained in a marbled slip case. There is just a hint of spotting to the vellum otherwise the book is in lovely condition. Housed in the publisher's original marbled slipcase which is in near Fine condition with just a little rubbing to the corners and edges. There were also 215 copies bound in green cloth. This publication was printed by Will and Sebastian Carter at the Rampant Lions Press and published as the seventh of the Clover Hill Editions. The title page carries a vignette of a fish with a verse from Psalm LX1X in the vulgate. 'Throughout his life, 'The Rime of the ancient Mariner' had held a profound significance for David Jones'. Loosely inserted is the publisher's Prospectus, which is in Fine condition. Scarce to find in this Signed Limited edition with such attributes. More images available on request.
