Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Clean map-illustrated endpapers; no names, writing or bookplates. Illustrated with black & white photographs. 468 pages with index. Clean jacket (designed by Harry Ford) is price clipped at upper corner of front inside flap; has edgewear, shallow chipping at top and bottom spine edges. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. A lively biography of D. H. Lawrence, including many of his fine letters which are quoted here for the first time..
