London: Groombridge & Sons, 1863. 1st edition. Very Good. octavo. 3/4 leather iv + 468pp., col. frontis., colour plates, illusts. (tints & wood-engravings), index, Fascinating mid-19th Century journal. With several nice colour plates inc. a nice colour frontis. of British Beetles, & a nice colour plate a new British snake. Also a superb colour plate of five hornbill species. Boards a little rubbed & split at spine but other than some heavy spotting to end papers & mild spots inside, internally a very nice copy
