About This Item

Toronto: Macmillan, 1949. 277 pp, 7 1/2" H. The author's second book. "Topaz Edgeworth travelled through a full hundred years of living, always gay, irreverent, unpredictable, and utterly untouched by any of the world's evil, though she had her share of its sorrows. The story of Topaz, part truth and part invention, will be recognized as marking the fulfilment of the promise shown by this Canadian author in her first novel, 'Hetty Dorval'." Boards are very bright and clean, the front board has a faint stain at bottom edge and a very slight bump at the top edge, light wrinkling to the bottom of the spine, faint wrinkling on the spine, back boards are very slightly bowed, very faint tanning to pages and text block edges. Dust jacket has a few small closed tears and some tiny chips, some light overall soiling - more noticeable on white back panel, browning on the inside of the flaps, now protected in removable mylar sleeve.. Not Signed. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good-.
