London: Oxford University Press Humphrey Milford, 1929. Full-Leather. Very Good. Pp. i-lv, 1-527, frontis portrait + 25 illustrations, octavo format, marbled fore-edges and endpapers, full tree calf leather binding with gilt stamped crest and gilt edge-decorations on the front board, extensive gilt decorations to the spine with five raised bands, gilt tiltes on red leather compartment. Very Good copy with modest wear to extremities, gilt very bright, binding holding well, except front external joint starting to crack a bit at the top. Presentation plate on fep to an Upper Canada College student, dated 1933. Internally Fine, with minor foxing to blank endpapers. Some "tide mark" stains to the fore-edge of the text block, not affecting text. Boards slightly bowing. A very atttractive example of this book acquired from the original owner's family.
