London, Richard Bentley, 1894 88th edition. Three Volumes. Hardback, Tall 8vo. 9.5 x 7 inches. In half-bound leather fine bindings by “Hatchards, Piccadilly.” Polished dark green morocco leather to spines and corners with gilt line edging, two deep raised bands to spines with gilt decorations and title lettering. Pale green cloth to boards. Top page edges gilt, marbled endpapers. In very good condition. Slight fading to spines, some minor rubbing to raised bands on vols 1 & 2. some minor rubbing to leading corners, a couple of minor handling marks to boards else clean and smart. Bookplates to endpapers “Lady Marjory Binney, 1909.” (Bookplate by T. Morino, 1909.) Binders stamps to rear corner of endpapers, blank sides with moderate foxing. Some mild foxing to prelims and title pages, and outer page edges. Some occasional minor spots to inside pages, some plates with some minor foxing, full-page plates are all guarded. Bindings all tight and sound. No weak hinges. Else a very good clean and tight set. 3 volumes: xliv + 283, 336, & 280pp. Illustrated with 94 B&W illustrations (full-page and in text, some fold-out) by Cruikshank, Leech,Tenniel and others. Including decorative title pages. Illustrated edition of the Ingoldsby Legends, “enriched with rare felicity” by George Cruikshank, John Leech, and John Tenniel.
