Garden City, New York: Doubleday Anchor, 1955. First Mass Market Paperback Edition . Mass Market Paperback. Fine. Gorey, Edward. Collection of well-considered essays on American life in the post-WWII world, focusing on work, play, ethics, morality, leisure, relations between the races & sexes, & more. Written both before & after the author's bestseller, "The Lonely Crowd,'' in 302 pages + 2 pages of ads for other Anchor titles. This is another Anchor paperback (A58) for the Gorey completist, though he did just the typography here; cover art by Miriam Woods. Orig. published in hardcover in 1954, this is the First Mass Market Paperback edition from 1955. From a single collection, it is in Fine condition: just a tad less crisp than brand new! Looks & feels never opened, with the tiniest of creases to the bottom outside corner of front cover. Else, binding strong & straight, pages white with a hint of tanning to edges, but completely unmarked. Nicely protected in new mylar collector bag FREE!
