Boston: Little Brown & Co, 1907. 2nd. Leather bound. INSCRIBED "To Inez Ray Smith/with the compliments & good/wishes of a fellow lover of the/Indian/George Wharton James." Second Edition. 8vo. xxi, 268pp + [3] advertisements pp. Bibliography. Black & white photo-illustrations (including frontispiece with tissue guard). Three-quarter green morocco and cloth, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. From the library of Irving W. Robbins, Jr., noted collector, and with his bookplate. Spine faded to brown although the gilt is bright; light wear to edges and joints; a very good copy. James travelled extensively throughout the Southwest and wrote several books based on his first-hand experiences. In this title, he details the lives and customs of the various Indian tribes he visited. (Alliot Bib. of Arizona pg. 116; Howes 5321).
