About This Item

New York, NY: Bramhall House, 1940. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Frank, Sears; Anderson, Bernice G.. Minor edge and corner wear; no dj; lightly scuffed and scratched; corners are gently bumped and rubbed; some light shelf wear; overall a very crisp and clean used copy! Blue boards with black lettering on the spine. 145 very clean unmarked and uncreased historical and informative pages nicely enhanced by black and white illustrations! "Many moons and many moons ago, as the red man would say, the Otoe tribesmen lived in a huge circle village of tepees on the rolling prairie and low hill country of what is now the state of Nebraska. On their hunting and fishing trips they roamed all over the plains country, going many, many miles from their home village. They were happy people because they were free to live as they loved to live. But today the Otoe Indian village is not colorful and exciting, as it used to be. It is merely an uninteresting town of common frame houses surrounded by patches of weedy grass, on a Government reservation at Red Rock, Oklahoma......" ---- from the Preface.
