New York: S.W. Benedict, 1920. "The Independent" was founded in 1848 with anti-slavery origins [not to be confused with Henry Ford's antisemitic "Dearborn Independent"]. This issue, consisting of pages 355-384, has an article regarding terrorism in Ireland and plans for internment (of the entire IRA). The text is very clean, bright, and supple. Near Fine condition; the only defect is the lack of the covers.. First Edition. Soft Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
