About This Item
London: Constable, 1906. Hardcover. Good. Inscribed on front free endpaper to Hermann Lebotin (as best I can discern) from "his friend E. Nesbit, May 27, 1907. Additionally, a folded, handwritten note of Nesbit's, also containing her signature, is attached to the front endpaper. The note reads: "Monday. My dear Monsieur 37, Here is the book. I hope you'll like it. I will come to tea tomorrow at 4:30 or 5 if I may. I am so sorry that we have seen so little of you this time. Your cordially, E. Nesbit Blane." The book itself features solid hinges and firm binding, and is unmarked otherwise. Boards are moderately discolored/faded/darkened, with original red-orange color having fully tanned on spine. Gilt typeface is nevertheless maintained on cover and spine. Protective mylar sleeve has been applied to boards. Photos available upon request.
