Very interesting Classic work. Includes: Sense and Meaning of Writers and Speakers; Language Learning; Meditation; Conversation; Socratic Discourse; Improving Memory, and much more. Period Brown claf Full-leather binding with bright Gilt Decoration on front & Back. 3 Raised bands to spine with Gilt Decoration on them and in compartments. Gilt title in 2nd compartment. Endpapers and all page edges Marbled. Frontis illus. a seated gentleman teaching a child. Title page with large Vignette illus. " The Rake reformed in the House of Mourning", protected by tissue guard, followed by printed title page dated 1825. XVIII/18 preliminary pages. Main text 486 pages. Section of leather missing from bottom of spine to lower raised band and a small bits from top corners of spine (see photo). Hinges cracked, text block firm. Antique gift inscription in old browned ink on back of frontis. No other inscriptions. Small trail of insect damage in corner of frontis & illustrated title page, otherwise pages in very good, clean condition.
