Noontide Press, 1963 Black cloth, gilt lettering, light shelf wear, tiny hole at foot of spine,Imperium: The Philosophy of History and Politics_, republished by Noontide Press, by Francis Parker Yockey is a classic work of historical philosophy in the tradition of Oswald Spengler, author of _The Decline of the West_, that has attained a cult-like status among the far extreme right wing. Yockey remains a problematic figure who saw the horrors of Allied occupation following the Second World War and wrote this book as a call for Europe and the West to rise up against this. Yockey first published this book in London in 1948 under the pseudonym Ulick Varange (a form of the name Ulysses combined with that of the Norse imperial guards in Byzantium) to emphasize his hope to attain pan-European unity against culture-distortion. Yockey lived a bizarre life and traveled throughout Europe, Russia, and the Middle East. He was eventually taken into custody in the United States when he was found to be carrying multiple passports. He apparently committed suicide in captivity. Yockey dedicates his book to "the hero of the Second World War", who he consistently refers to throughout this book, along with the "philosopher of the Twentieth Century" (Oswald Spengler).. 1st Edition. Description:
New York: The Truth Seeker. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1962. Reprint. Hardcover. "The first sequel the literary world knows to Spengler's monumental The Decline of the West. Presents unique and almost esoteric political, social and historical definitions and explanations which shall become more widely known - indeed, commonly understood - if our West survives. The first comprehensive and profoundly constructive alternative to the Marxist-liberal degeneracy surrounding us. In Imperium a creative genius has given the world something new: a fourth dimension of intellect and a new concept of spirituality. The original two volumes are here combined, unabridged, into one, with a brilliant Introduction by W.A. Carto." - dust jacket. "In six months - working entirely without notes, Francis Parker Yockey (1917-1960) completed Imperium. [His] only real crime was to write a book, and for this he had to die. " - W.A. Carto. xliii, [4], [3]-626 pages. Index. 1962…
