A unique record of English social life at the end of the 17th century, as well as a valuable resource for architectural and economic historians. This edition illustrated with contemporary paintings and engravings. Celia Fiennes was the daughter of a colonel in Cromwells army as well as an ancestress of both Sir Ranulph and Ralph Fiennes.
