UK: The Bodley Head, 1957. 1st Edition 1st Impression. Hardcover. Good/Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. First edition, first impression. In red cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on spine. 12mo. Boards gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine tips. Stain on front free endpaper, a little faint and occasional spotting. In its original edge-worn dust jacket, sunned over spine. From the author of the Diplomat, this is a novel set in Egypt during the second world war, essentially the story of Captain Scott, a leading member of specialist desert group, who finds evidence that his friend and former commander, was killed along with others on a British minefield.
