At the rear of the book there is the author's family tree and acknowledgements. Black and white photographs decorate the pages. Photographic / illustrated paperback binding with gilt and white coloured titles to the front panel and gilt and dark blue coloured titles to the back strip. The author is the daughter of Holocaust survivors, and, lived her life with sudden silences and the past to terrible speak of by her parents. In her early 40s she found out that her father had an earlier marriage with one daughter who had perished in the Holocaust, and, she set out to find out as much as she could about her family, her ancestors and what they endured and how they survived.
