About This Item
Synopsis
TERRY PRATCHETT is one of the most popular authors writing in the UK today. He is the acclaimed creator of the Discworld series, the first title in which, The Colour of Magic , was pubilshed in 1983. Worldwide sales of his books are in excess of 55 million and they have been translated into 36 languages. His first Discworld novel for younger readers, The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents , was awarded the 2001 Carnegie Medal. Terry Pratchett was appointed OBE in 1998.
Reviews
Another brilliant book in Terry Pratchett's long line of brilliant books. This one is the third of the Tiffany books and she is now older and in charge of her 'steadying'. The only negative criticism to be made here is that perhaps this one falls uncomfortably between 'young adult' and 'adult'. It is perhaps a tad too complex for readers of the previous Tiffany books - except that they are now older of course - and may be a little slight for those that enjoy the more heavily satirical Discworld books. Nevertheless this is a thoroughly enjoyable read in the great Discworld tradition.
