Lovely pictorial dust jacket -- quite rare -- shows a sylized bird on flying over an island. Quarter inch ships to the top of spine and a few frew small chips to the bottom. Still a lovely book to have, hold and look at. Ronald Mathias Lockley (November 8, 1903 - April 12, 2000 (aged 96)) was a Welsh naturalist and author who spent much of his later life in New Zealand. In 1927 Lockley took over the lease of the island of Skokholm, Pembrokeshire, establishing the first British bird observatory there in 1933.. First Edition. Full Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hardcover.
