New York: Rinehart & Company, 1959. First edition, first printing, with the publisher's R cartouche on the copyright page. Patterned gray hardcover with bright orange spine, with dustjacket. Very good with light edge rubbing, good hinges, firm text block, clean pages, no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [3.75] and is also very good with some light shelf soil, spine a bit faded but legible, no chips. From the collection of a History professor who became friends with Sarton when they first met at Depauw University in the mid 1950s.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
