(11 15/16 x 9 1/2"). 48pp. Original blue paper-covered boards with gilt lettering and solid, vertical double ruling on cover. Title page with I.G.V. logo and black frame. With a preface by Reinhardt Uhlig, chairman of the Leipzig section of the International Geneva Association, celebrating the 50th anniversary of its formation in 1879.
The I.G.V. was founded in 1877 to further hotels and restaurants, their employees and tourism in general. The Leipzig section was founded in 1879. This elaborate illustrated publication includes photographic and graphic content throughout, opening with a page featuring a tipped-in collage of flags of the fourteen member nations, followed by three b/w photo portraits of the Leipzig founders, a page introducing all German and foreign sections, with tipped-in color map, the leaders of the Leipzig section, the "Honor Guard," and personalities who are members for longer than 25 years.
It contains contributions describing the Leipzig Section of the I.G.V., illustrated with tipped-in photo reproductions showing Leipzig as well as artwork, the development of the mother organization, and a special contribution honoring the fiftieth anniversary of the Leipzig Section. Pages 28 through 48 contain illustrated advertisements, photographs and artwork, some with elaborate descriptions. Text in German. Binding with light sunning and minor wear.
