He was the founder of physiognomy, and this is one of the earliest works on the subject." Aprox 100 textual woodcuts of human and animal heads. Contemporary calf binding. Printed on different types of paper so consequently some leaves are bright and clean and others are more heavily toned. This is shown in the photos. Bookplate roughly removed from back of front board .
