Professor George Wille (1880-1965), read for his B.A.LLB. at Cambridge. Returning to South Africa in 1903, he was a member of the Transvaal Bar for 18 years, where he practiced as an advocate. He became the first full-time professor of law at University of Cape Town in 1920, holding the chair until 1945, and lecturing chiefly on Roman-Dutch law. Many judges in South Africa and Rhodesia studied under him. Wille was one of the best-known legal writers in South Africa. Lightfoot was Attorney General of Texas; general counsel for Wilson and Company, Chicago meat packers and then was partner in the Ft. Worth firm Lightfoot, Robertson, Saunders, and Gano. He was a Mason and a member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and is buried in the State Cemetery in Austin.
