About This Item
This is a handsome first edition of E.O. Wilson's book about how human biology and ethics compare and contrast, sometimes working together, sometimes at odds. It went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1979. The dust jacket shows wear around the edges. Otherwise, the book looks like new, with the original brown cloth cover, gold lettering along the spine and pictorial end papers. A previous owner did inscribe his own name, in pen, on the title page (pictured).
Synopsis
On Human Nature is a 1979 Pulitzer prize-winning book by the Harvard biologist E. O. Wilson. The book tries to explain how different characteristics of humans and society can be explained from the point of evolution. He explains how evolution has left its traces on the characteristics which are the specialty of human species like use of sex for pleasure, generosity, self-sacrifice and worship.
