Essays by poet, translator, and polymath David Rattray. Initially best known for his translations of Antonin Artaud, Rattray has developed a steadily growing audience for his remarkable poems (collected in the book Opening the Eyelid), essays, and miscellaneous translations from myriad languages since his untimely death in 1993. First published in 1992, and now back in print in a greatly expanded edition (almost a hundred pages of new material), and with a marvelous biographical introduction by Robert Dewhurst.
