BAILLIE SCOTT, Macay Hugh. HOUSES AND GARDENS. London: George Newnes, 1906. Folio. Publishers green cloth, top edge gilt. x 247 pages, 17 colored plates including frontispiece, 12 halftone plates. Firs edition. In 1906 Baillie Scott published House and Gardens, an illustrated survey of h works which gives a detailed account of his work and ideas at this time in hi career, and elegantly describes his philosophy of design. The work is divide into two sections, the first containing Baillie Scott's philosophy of design profusely illustrated with drawings and plans. The second section contains actual commissions including Findon, Rose Court, Blackwell, the 'House for an Art lover,' Bexton Croft, Five Gables,but also commissions from abroad includ furnished rooms for Darmstadt and Mannheim. The work concluded by a chapter furniture. Pages 121 to the end printed on china clay paper and contain a bl of text interspersed with numerous half-tone plates. Some slight fading.
