An adventurous novel set in Turkey in 1922, the year of the War of Independence, when Kemal Ataturk won his great victory over King Constantine and the Greek generals. Clean & unmarked grey cloth binding with orange lettering on the spine. Very small indentations on top and bottom edge of front board. Rough cut. Internals quite clean free from any markings, no creasing. Endpapers with map of Anatolia and Western Turkey in 1922. White jacket with Turkish warriors and flag; light tan stain on front; spine faded; edgewear with chip at spine head & tail, scuffing of corners. 342 pages. 5.75 x 8.6 inches. William Morrow, New York, 1970.
