About This Item

Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 1928. Hardcover. Near Fine. First edition thus, with an introduction and notes by Paull Franklin Baum. Publisher's cloth. A little darkening in the joint else very near fine lacking the dustwrapper. Inscribed by Howard Mumford Jones to Reynolds Price: "Edward Reynolds Price from Howard Mumford Jones. Harvard University, 24 August 54." An interesting association: Jones is a Pulitzer Prize-winner, has a Professorship of American Studies named after him at Harvard, and while on the faculty of the University of North Carolina, decried the lack of a good bookstore in Chapel Hill and decided to open his own.
