A collection of sonnets by English poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti, controversial at the time of its publishing due to their erotic and sensual contents. In two parts: 'Youth and Change'; 'Change and Fate'. Dante Gabriel Rossetti was an English poet and illustrator, early inspiration to both William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones. His art was characterised by its sensuality and medieval revivalism. Featuring a frontispiece portrait in black and white. Pocket sized edition. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, lightly bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting affecting first and last few leaves only, pages otherwise bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
