Hardcover. 8vo Hbk in d/w; 4 colour plates and line drawings; although an ex-library copy, it is not a badly marked one; book has small sticker remains on fep; rubber stamp on fep; inside rear cover a little damage where it looks as if sticker removed; otherwise book looks nice and clean, so obviously not lent out much by library; vg-/vg-; d/w not price clipped (21s) ; some nicks and creasing to d/w edges; ; C. I. C Series (Childrens Illustrated Classics Series) ; Ex-Library; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .

Synopsis

Edith Nesbit (1858-1924) was an English author and poet whose children’s works were published under the name E. Nesbit. Born in London, she became active in politics, and in 1884 helped to found the Fabian Society. She wrote or collaborated on over 60 books of fiction for children, her best known including The Railway Children and The Story of the Treasure Seekers. Several of her books have been made into films.
