Faux vellum paper over boards with gilt spine lettering and front board device, slipcase with paper label. 359pp. Extensive full-page color plates. Near fine/near fine. Tiniest smudge on title page. Handsome undated later printing of this 1960 edition, almost all of its 160 gorgeously calligraphed, rubricated and illuminated leaves face-to-face with Plummer's learned commentary. The Dutchess of Guelders (1417-79) commissioned this most glorious example of a Boof of Hours in 1430 and it's considered one of the greatest of northern European illuminated manuscripts, now owned by the Morgan Library.
