Decorated boards, 149 (2)pp., color frontis., a tribute, the reasons, "Gaucho," a poem by Fernan Silva Valdes, illustrated [some in color], notes, bibliographies. One color illustration and four black & white illustrations by Nick Eggenhofer. Book was actually printed by Guillermo Kraft Limitada, S.A. for Hastings House. "This volume presents a fascinating account of life on the cattle frontiers of the western hemisphere, together with an enlightening discussion of the amazing literature that has grown up around these popular heroes, the South American gaucho, the Mexican charro, and our own cowboy."
