Norman, OK: University of Oklahoma Press, 1984. Second and third printings. Hardcover. Randy Steffen. Missing volume 4. 195; 215; 267pp. Quarto [31 cm] Blue cloth over boards with a gilt stamped title and two red ink stamped panels on the backstrip. Bright yellow endpapers. Volume 1 is in very good condition, with a couple of minor damp stains on the edges of the covers, and volumes 2 and there are in good plus condition, with a bit more damp staining on the edges. Internally, the books are very clean. The dust jackets are in very good condition, with mild surface and edge wear. The dust jacket of volume 3 has a 1" closed tear in the bottom edge. Volume I: The Revolution, the War of 1812, the Early Frontier 1776-1850. Volume II: The Frontier, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Indian Wars 1851-1880. Volume III: The Last of the Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War, the Brink of the Great War 1881-1916. Artist-historian, Randy Steffen, received the 1976 George Washington Award of the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge for his contributions to American history.
