About This Item
New York: Holt, Rinehart & Winston, 1969. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good +/Very Good. This is a stated first edition. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, with no marks or wear. The brown covers are fresh, with very minor wear at edges and corners. The dust jacket is clipped, and is in very good condition, again with light wear, including a small chip of paper missing from the bottom right corner of the front panel, and light wear to the spine. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: This is the story of Oscar, a talented horse who plays center field for the New York Goats. The Goats, first in the hearts of their fans, and last in the National League, really need Oscar. Inspired by his brilliant playing in center field, the Goats miraculously pull themselves together, grab the pennant, and seem sure-fire bets to take the series until -- Oscar is horse-napped !
