About This Item

1st Edition (October 1914). The signed, 1st edition book by the author of the best-seller, Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch, is decorated with the image of a man and a woman standing at ship's rail on the front cover and includes 14 lovely B&W illustrations throughout. The illustrator is not listed. The dedication by the author is on the half title page reading, "With the best wishes of the author - Alice Hagen Rice." There is also a gift dedication in pen on the half-title page, as well.There is also a beautiful, period owners bookplate on the FEP. See images!

The binding is in very good condition with only minor bumping to corners and spine head and tail and a little soiling. Hinge is tight and the pages are bright and clean. No foxing or stains! There is a list at the back of the book listing 7 other titles by the author, published by The Century Co.

All proceeds benefit The Friends of the San Anselmo Library. No expedited shipping outside of the United States.
