About This Item

Chicago: Playboy Press 872 16299, 1975. Book. Very Good. Soft cover. 1st thus.. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Pseudonym of John Seybold, a professional jewel thief and home invader who, once upon a time, was employed by the Mafia before he double-crossed them and turned himself in. Basis for the Michael Mann movie Thief, which starred James Caan, Tuesday Weld, Robert Prosky, Willie Nelson and Dennis Farina, and featured music by Tangerine Dream (nothing in the slightest unlikeable about this film, boys and girls). 188 pages + four pages promoting other Playboy Press-published titles, introduction by Herbert Beigel. Internally clean and tight (possibly unread) w/a hint of edgewear, a couple of full-length vertical impressions to front cover (book has to be turned at an angle for impressions to be seen), thin white horizontal line to bottom of front cover, wrinkling to spine (printing flaw), light surface wear, a bit of tanning. Scarce in this edition..
