About This Item

The Fireside Game Company, Cincinnati, OH, 1899; Stated First Edition; 8vo (4 58" x 7 1/8"), 36 pgs; illustrated; card wraps. Delightful booklet containing complete instructions in how to play thirty-one different parlor and party games for children to engage in at home with the family. Published to encourage the wholesome play of children, which forms an important part of their development and education. Charmingly illustrated with twelve photos and artists’ works depicting nineteenth century children at play. Very Good, in orange card wraps with white polka dot pattern. Small previous owner address label on verso of the front wrap, tiny pinhole in center of title page, inside front hinge reinforcement, aged, but resilient. Quite rare, with only one other copy on record at the Strong National Museum Of Play in Rochester, NY.
