About This Item
Edinburgh and London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1881. First Edition. Decorative Cloth. Poor/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Yellowish cloth with black decorations to front boards & spine. Decorated endpages. Illustrated throughout with black & white plates; large folding map to rear of volume I. Books are generally soiled & worn over all, with staining to baords, dampwear to lower edges of boards Inner hinges reinforced with blue binder's tape. Signatures started; middle signature to volume 2 cracked open. Foxing, age darkening to pages. Pretty rough shape, but it is the first edition, and both volumes are intact.
