New York: The Viking Press, 1972. Hardcover. Square 8vo. Purple cloth with silver spine lettering. 173pp. Color frontispiece, extensive illustrations (some color). Near fine. Lacks dust jacket. Attractive first edition of this survey of award-winning homes grouped into such categories as "The Contemporary Idiom," "The Small Space Age," "The Unusual Dwelling," "Do-It-Yourself," etc. Boldly inscribed and signed in black fineline on front flyleaf: "All best wishes to / Robert Malott! / Tish Baldridge / 4/27/72." Baldridge (1926-2012) was best known as Jackie Kennedy's social secretary, but was also a renowned etiquette expert nicknamed the "Doyenne of Decorum," writer and publicist. Robert Malott (1926-2018) was a noted Chicago business leader, CEO of FMC Corporation, Republican politico and philanthropist.
