Foreword by John Erskine. DeMille left Broadway and to to Hollywood for 3 months - he stayed for 20 years. He tells about the early days of Hollywood from first-hand experience as the despised movie of 1914 grew into the most socially important form of drama in the world. A very intersting early film book. .
