Early printing, contains the Grr-r-r on page 23, former owner's name and date of 1956 on first endpaper, otherwise unmarked with clear pages. Pictorial board with a blue-green cloth spine. corners have slight wear and are sharp. Jacket is not price-clipped ($1.50) with the number 30-70 at the bottom of the front flap. Jacket shows wear on spine with three spots where the coating of the paper has flaked away. Sendak's marvelous illustrations throughout.
