Dust-jacket protected by reinforced mylar covers that have been pasted to inside of front and rear boards. Not an ex-library copy, from a private collection. No previous ownership marks. A history of fourteen significant German commanders from one of Britain's leading writers on the German forces of the Second World War. Subjects include: "Eduard Dietl, the hero of Narvik, 1940; Werner Kempf, one of the most successful Panzer Commanders of the war, who served with distinction on the Eastern Front; Kurt Meyer, who, as General Commanding Hitler Youth Division, was one of Germany's youngest General Officers; Theodor Sherer, hero of Cholm, 1942; and others of differing achievement but equal stature.
