For the most part, pages are clean, unmarked, and tight with a small stain or smudge here and there; light soiling on outer edges of textblocks with gilt upper edges a little scratched but still shiny; covers are strong with mild buckling of spines, wear at ends of spines, and small stains; front hinge on Volume 3 has a small crack and the front flyleaf is creased; Volumes 4 and 5 have bumped corners and Volume 5 has a 1" tear at upper front spine
