The second edition of Henry Foulis's important spirited work attacking the Presbyterians, published in the late seventeenth century. The History of the Wicked Plots and Conspiracies of Our Pretended Saints is an energetic attack on the Presbyterians of Scotland as well as the Catholics, including various conspiracies, schisms, perjury, sacrilege, with particular examples occurring in Great Britain.Written by Henry Foulis, a seventeenth century Anglican theologian, who wrote numerous tracts attacking the Presbyterian and Catholic churches on behalf of the Church of England. The second edition of this work. Including loosely inserted bookplates of British book collector Robert Washington Oates and Revered J.T. Barrett. This copy was previously held at the Bibliotheca Oatesiana, and includes a library stamp to the title page and page 247, and a blind stamp to the dedication page. ESTC Citation No. R5159Signature: [1] A2, b1-b4, B1-2I4 Rebacked in contemporary full calf. Externally, some shelf wear to the boards and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound.
