About This Item
1832. THACHER, James. HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF PLYMOUTH. From Its First Settlement in 1620, to the Year 1832. Boston: Marsh, Capen & Lyon, 1832. Frontispiece, and a fold-out map. 8vo., original violet cloth sides rebacked with grey cloth, title ink-stamped to spine. Ex-library; bookplate to front pastedown and no other marks. The rebacking is a bit awkward but secure, despite being over-opened at either end; it is slightly loose around the spine, and lacks free endpapers, using the frontispiece and final blank instead. The Preface and Index (p. iii-xii), and the map are all sprung. Moderate rubbing to boards and perimeters. Hinges cracked. Ink note on p. 31, else generally clean internally. An acceptable reading copy.
