London: The Office of the Times, 1935. First. Very Good. This is a possibly unique archive covering the history and development of The Times (ie the Times of London to US readers), one of the oldest and most respected newspapers in the world The volumes cover the paper's history from its founding in 1785 into the 1950's, apparently collected by a longtime Times employee, a Miss K Watkins But beyond the historical record, 4 of the 5 volumes are signed by several of the most important Times personages of the early and mid-20th century, including John Jacob Astor, (the Times owner 1922-59), John Walter IV, whose ancestor founded the Times, Geoffrey Dawson, (Editor 1912-19 and 192-41), Robert Benington-Ward (Editor 1941-48), Christopher S Kent (Manager of the Times 1937-49), and Stanley Morison, (chief typographer 1923-67 and creator of the New Times Roman font)

2 Vol 2 The Tradition is Established, 1841-1884, 622 p, signed by Astor, Walter, Dawson, Kent and Morison
3 Vol 3 The Twentieth Century Test, 1884-1912, 1947, 862 p, signed by Astor, Walter, Robert Bennington-Ward and Morison
4 Vol 4 The 150th Anniversary and Beyond , Part I, 1912-1948, 1952, 534 p, Signed by Astor and Walter
5 Vol 5 The 150th Anniversary and Beyond, Part II, 1912-1948, pp 535-1182, not signed

All items are in very good to near fine condition, with no marks beyond the signatures and no damage at all
