"Embracing accounts of the pre-historic races and their remains; the earliest Spanish, French and American explorations; the lives of the primitive hunters, trappers and traders; the commerce of the prairies; the first American settlements founded; the original discoveries of Gold in the Rocky Mountains; the development of cities and towns, with the various phases of industrial and political transition, from 1858 to 1890." Covers have moderate edge wear and deteriorated corners - some corners worn through to boards. Front cover detached. Rear hinge starting. Text block is still rather tight. A few smudges on occasional pages. Minor rippling to endpapers (pages at front and contents) and pages at back - index. Interior pages generally crisp and clean. PLUS original postcard addressed to one of the illustrated subjects "John Wolfe". Postcard stating Mr. Wolfe will be receiving a complimentary copy of the publication. Signed by H.A. (?) Davis, Special Agent for Rocky Mountain History Co., Cripple Creek. Posted to Mr. Wolf at Cheyenne Canon Road South, Colorado Springs. Mar 30, (18)97 Cripple Creek postmark.. Full-Leather. Fair. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
