Blue boards with double gilt fillet slightly rubbed; the spine is beautifully decorated with gilt tooling, and raised tooled bands. Title and author separated - title in red, author in green distinctive labels. Marbled endpapers. The front boards are inscribed in ornate gilt script "Cumloden Christmas 1893". School award sticker pasted on the inside front board in both volumes. "A new edition with an appendix of events to the end of 1886" An attractive set in excellent condition.

The spine has five raised bands with fancy gilt decorations; the label is green with gilt lettering. Front cover has a school's heraldric device with Latin motto (Apropriately, "With God's Help"). Endpapers and all edges are marbled. Clean text; 448 pages; indexed. Light rub to corners and top of spine; top page edge has darkened a bit. Minor spotting to the endpapers. Else a Fine copy.
